The X Factor 2014 top 5 week 7 performances

The X Factor 2014 continued last night and delivered a surprise elimination during Elton John Vs Whitney Houston week.

The remaining 7 acts performed songs from the two legends and at the end of the show it was revealed that Only The Young received the fewest votes from the public meaning they were sent home. Tonight another act will be leaving the competition.

After rewatching the performances from last night’s show, we’ve picked our Top 5 performances of the evening. Keep reading to see if you agree with our choices.

5. Ben Haenow – I Will Always Love You

We didn’t mind Ben’s take on the Dolly Parton / Whitney classic. Of course he’s going to sound like a rock singer but it was a different interpretation of the song than we’ve heard before. We think he did a good job.

4. Andrea Faustini – I Have Nothing

We all knew that Andrea would great this week and his vocal was spot on. He tackled a huge Whitney song and it worked in his favour. He also didn’t pull those silly faces Simon’s always moaning on about! HURRAH!

3. Lauren Platt – How Will I Know

It was so refreshing to see Lauren being youthful and moving around the stage. This performance worked really well and when she was joined by her brother on stage it was one of the night’s most emotive moments. Good job Lauren!

2. Stereo Kicks – Don’t Let The Sun Go Down On Me

It’s all coming together for Stereo Kicks. As the weeks go by the boyband gets better and better. Last night was their best performance so far and we can see them really working in the charts. Maybe One Direction need to start watching their backs?

1. Fleur East – I’m Every Woman

Fleur, Fleur, Fleur! We absolutely love this girl and she’s still the frontrunner in our eyes. Her performance last night was polished, confident and infectious. Whitney Houston is perfect for her and she was easily the performance of the night for us.

The X Factor 2014 continues tonight at 8pm so tune in to find out who will be leaving the competition.
