Bill Hixon (Rob Lowe) arrived in Lincolnshire with his daughter Kelsey (Aloreia Spencer) by his side and was quickly thrown into his new job leading the town’s police force. He found out quickly that he pushed ACC Lydia Price’s (Anji Mohindra) nose out of joint as she’d wanted the job that he ended up landing.

A severed head was discovered during a routine police operation and Bill teamed up with DC Muriel Yeardsley (Bronwyn James) to try and solve the case. The head belonged to a girl who had run away from home 10 years earlier and Bill and Yeardsley connected with her mother Angie (Susan Lynch) to get some clues as to what might have happened.

After uncovering a cannabis operation involving the deceased girl’s boyfriend Marek Rudnicka (Julian Kostov) and local criminal Oleg Kraznov (Aleksandar Jovanovic), Bill thought he had the case solved until he realised that the victim wasn’t murdered at all – she committed suicide!

Turns out the girl found out her mother had slept with Marek and she threw herself off the top of a wind turbine, causing her head to be accidentally severed. Bill narrowly stopped Angie from repeating her daughter’s actions and after a tape of him assaulting a boy from Kelsey’s old school surfaced, he quit his job.

As he and Kelsey packed up their things at the end of the episode, it was suggested that Bill is probably going to stick around Lincolnshire for a bit longer.
