UnREAL renewed for a second season

Lifetime’s much-buzzed new drama UnREAL arrives tonight in the UK and it’s just been announced that the show has been renewed for a second season.

The dark drama stars Shiri Appleby (Roswell), Constance Zimmer (House of Cards) and Freddie Stroma (Harry Potter), and gives a glimpse at what really goes on behind-the-scenes of a fictional reality show called Everlasting. The series is a bold move for Lifetime and unlike anything the network has done previously.

In a statement Liz Gateley, Executive Vice President and Head of Programming for Lifetime, said, ā€œWe couldnā€™t be more proud to bring back UnREAL. With authentically flawed characters, sharp storytelling and impeccable performances, this show is propelling our brand in a truly exciting direction ā€“ an unexpected and bolder Lifetime.ā€

The second season is expected to debut in 2016 and will feature 10 episodes. In the US the first season is half way through its 10 episode run.

UnREAL kicks off tonight at 10pm on Lifetime and it’s guaranteed to be your guilty pleasure for the summer.
