Tyrant finally arrives in the UK this week after airing its first season in the US.
The show attracted a fair bit of controversy as it tackles political issues that resonate with what’s going on in the world right now. The cast is led by British actor Adam Rayner who plays Barry ‘Bassam’ Al-Fayeed, a man trying to escape his upbringing but who is drawn back to the Middle East for a family wedding.
The pilot episode of the show airs Friday in the UK. When Barry’s father, a Middle Eastern dictator, demands he returns home to attend a family wedding, he leaves his life in California and is thrust, into the politics of a turbulent nation.
