Just as Jamie thought he’d found an ally in Zoe (Katie Clarkson-Hill), he discovered he’d made an enemy of Alex (Richard Rankin). While Zoe tried to take Jamie’s case to Dr. Watson (John Hannah), she was blind-sided by the revelation that she’d been caught stealing pills.

With Zoe away from the ward on a personal day, Jamie was drugged by Alex who wanted to keep him in his bed so he didn’t cause any trouble. That experience led to him asking Debbie (Ashley Jensen) to arrange a home visit and he got to spend some time away from the ward.

He argued with his mother and met military friend Charlie (Jamie Michie) for a few pints. The night ended up with Jamie in a cell after he assaulted a police officer following Charlie getting into a fight with a reveller.

Returning to the ward, Jamie was threatened by Alex, who stuck a needle in his arm and wiggled it around while he made his point. That experience led to Jamie suffering from sepsis so Zoe administered an IV to treat him and it caused a cardiac arrest.

Who’s been meddling with the IV bags we wonder? Answers on a postcard!
