Top 5 Strictly Come Dancing 2015 week 8 performances

Strictly Come Dancing 2015 continued last night as the 9 remaining couples danced for the last time before 8 of them head off to Blackpool for next week’s show.

The competition was fierce and it really is going to be a close call when the competition gets down to the final six. The standard is a little bit all over the place this year and consistency doesn’t seem to be an advantage for any of the couples.

We’ve reviewed all of last night’s performances and picked our Top 5. Who made the cut? Keep reading to find out…

5. Anita Rani & Gleb Savchenko – Quickstep

Anita Rani finally had some stiff competition this week and whilst we liked her Quickstep we didn’t altogether love it. Gleb definitely pushes her week to week but this wasn’t our favourite of the couple’s performances so far.

4. Peter Andre & Janette Manrara – Viennese Waltz

Peter had been looking forward to dancing the Viennese Waltz all week and his joy shined through in his performance. It was beautiful, light and had an American Smooth influence that we found irresistible.

3. Helen George & Aljaz Skorjanec – Tango

Our favourite dance from Helen so far in the series! Her partnership with Aljaz is magical and last night’s Tango established her as a favourite to win the series. She was so classy, elegant and technically impressive.

2. Kellie Bright & Kevin Clifton – Samba

This routine wasn’t going to be everyone’s cup of tea but we loved it. Kevin’s choreography was inspired as he combined hip-hop moves into the Samba. Kellie seemed to be having a lot of fun and her technique is getting better every week.

1. Georgia May Foote & Giovanni Pernice – Charleston

This should have been the series’ first 40 score but Craig Revel-Horwood only gave Georgia and Giovanni a 9. The energy and technique Georgia displayed in this routine was incredible and she really has emerged as the dark horse in the competition. If she keeps this standard up she may just win the whole thing.

Tune in to BBC One at 7.20pm tonight to find out which couple will be leaving the competition.
