We’ve reached the half-way point with The Following’s second season and there have been some pretty big twists already.
Despite watching the show convinced that everyone is evil/deceitful/a follower the show has still managed to surprise us on a number of occasions during the first half of the season. Ahead of next week’s all-new episode we’ve had a look at the five most shocking twists so far this season.
If you don’t like spoilers or aren’t up-to-date with the show then stop reading now!
Keep reading to find out what our Top 5 most shocking twists are so far:
5. Luke isn’t dead
Clearly Luke is a villain of the invincible kind. After being stabbed twice, shot and beaten to the pulp, it seems the evil twin got away with just being a bit battered and bruised. Even Lily thought her son was a goner.
4. Mandy is a psychopath in training
Ok we’ll admit we saw the warning signs but the moment Mandy knifed her mother to death was pretty shocking. There was a niggle of doubt in our minds that she’d go through with it and she might attack Joe but it seems he’s trained this one well. Now he just has to stop her from wanting to kill everyone.
3. Lily Gray is a Joe Carroll follower
This is the most stupid we’ve felt so far in season two. We questioned why Lily was getting so much screen time after the subway attack and the thought of a love affair between her and Ryan made us feel a little gloomy inside. The moment Ryan cottoned onto her and realised she’s been telling lies was a definite OMG moment. How did we not guess?
2. Jana is linked to Agent Mendez
This was one of those reveals that was thrown in at the end of an episode and hasn’t really been expanded on since. Jana was seen helping Joe and Mandy get away and we thought she was just one of his many followers. When it was revealed that she is/was in a relationship with Mendez we were pretty shocked. There were no warning signs but this is a twist we liked very much.
1. Lily Gray revealed as Mark and Luke’s ‘mom’
Looking back we should have connected the dots but the moment Lily got into the car with her ‘son’ was one that floored us. As it transpired she’s not the twins biological mother but she has built herself a nice little family of homicidal outcasts.
