The Bay will return to ITV for series 2 it has been announced.
Producers ITV and Tall Story Pictures have revealed the renewal news today meaning fans will get to spend more time in Morecambe with DS Lisa Armstrong (Morven Christie).
The Bay is written by award-winning writer and playwright Daragh Carville (Being Human, The Smoke, Cherrybomb). It achieved consolidated audiences of 7 million viewers with a share of 27% across six episodes.
The series is set in the coastal town of Morecambe and stars Morven Christie (The A Word, The Replacement) as police Family Liaison Officer, DS Lisa Armstrong and Daniel Ryan (Mount Pleasant, Black Sea) playing DI Tony Manning.
The second series has been commissioned by ITVās Head of Drama, Polly Hill.

Series 2 of The Bay will begin filming later this year with further casting news to be announced closer to production.
