Strictly Come Dancing professional Robin Windsor has been forced to pull out of this year’s series due to an ongoing back injury.
The announcement was made by the BBC and through Robin’s official Facebook page. Last year the dancer had trouble with his back forcing him to miss some of the group numbers once he and partner Deborah Meaden had been eliminated from the show.
Robin says: “I’m devastated to have to pull out of Strictly this year due to a pre-existing back injury. It’s been a really difficult decision but I plan to focus 100 per cent on my recovery and hope to be back in the ballroom as soon as possible, doing what I love best.
“In the meantime, I wish the rest of the cast and crew the best of luck with the new series which I’ll be watching every week.”
Robin will be replaced by new pro dancer Trent Whiddon who has appeared on Dancing With The Stars in Australia and the US.
āI am so excited to have been asked to join Strictly. Itās such an honour to be a part of the show and I canāt wait to step onto the famous Strictly dancefloor!ā says Trent.
We wish Robin a speedy recovery and will be gutted not to see him on the dancefloor when Strictly returns next month.
