Ray Donovan returns to UK screens tonight (October 31st) as the sixth season of the hit drama kicks off on Sky Atlantic HD. We’re getting the season just three days behind the US so be careful of spoilers online and on social media.
In the season 5 finale, Ray (Liev Schreiber) set his father Mickey (Jon Voight) up to take the fall for the murder of Frank Barnes. He had Samantha Winslow (Susan Sarandon) get Dr. Bernstein to perform life-saving surgery on Smitty (Graham Rogers), his daughter Bridget’s (Kerris Dorsey) boyfriend. Finally he killed Doug Landry (Michel Gill) and made it look like suicide.
With Mickey taking the fall for Barnes, Daryll (Pooch Hall) was in the clear and ended up taking a job with Jay White (Brian J. White). Bunchy (Dash Mihok) asked Teresa (Alyssa Diaz) to leave and he was given Abby’s bar by Ray. Elsewhere, Terry (Eddie Marsan) was back in town and Conor (Devon Bagby) decided to join the Marines.
At the end of the finale, everything got too much for Ray. He saw a vision of Abby (Paula Malcomson) and followed her off a building into the East River.
