Ray (Liev Schreiber) found out that his obligation to Sonia Kovitzky (Embeth Davidtz) hadn’t come to an end on the latest episode of Ray Donovan.
After Mickey (Jon Voight) turned himself in to free Belikov (Pasha D. Lychnikoff), Ray thought he was done with Sonia but she wasn’t happy to let Ray go until Belikov was released from prison. He picked up a painting for her and accompanied her to a charity gala where he bumped into Stu Feldman (Josh Pais), who won an auction for a very expensive painting.
Sonia had Ray deliver a forgery to Feldman rather than the real painting and revealed she had terminal cancer. She showed him her scars then proceeded to seduce him. Belikov was eventually released from prison and Ray soon grew tired of taking orders from him. When he found out Belikov killed a young woman who was being used as a sex slave, he killed him and left the girl’s body outside of a morgue.
Elsewhere in the episode Connor (Devon Bagby) tried to impress a friend by showing off the gun he found, Mickey went to great lengths to convince the police that he did kill the Minassians, Abby (Paula Malcomson) started having aggressive treatment for her cancer, and Bunchy (Dash Mihok) had his daughter baptised.
The next episode of the season is Norman Saves the World. Ray needs to break Mickey out of jail, but to do so he needs a favour from an old opponent.
