The Following served up its biggest shocker yet during this week’s episode when one of the new central characters was revealed to be one of Joe Carroll’s (James Purefoy) followers.

It was revealed that Lily Gray (Connie Nielsen) wasn’t the innocent victim she claimed to be and she was in fact working for Joe and trying to lure Ryan Hardy (Kevin Bacon) to him. At the end of the episode she escaped the FBI and leaving us gob-smacked it was revealed that she was the mother of the evil twins Luke and Mark (Sam Underwood).
This week’s episode is called Family Affair. Ryan and his niece Max (Jessica Stroup) delve further into the grisly puzzle of Joe Carroll’s return while dangerously trying to stay two steps ahead of the FBI.
Could Max finally get something to do other than help Ryan on her laptop and tell him to go to the FBI? We hope so as she’s been drastically under-used so far this season.
