Pretty Little Liars returned in the US last night as its fifth season kicked off.
The show returned just as news broke that ABC Family had handed it a further two seasons guaranteeing the show up to the end of season 7. Season premiere EscApe From New York found Aria (Lucy Hale), Spencer (Troian Bellisario), Hanna (Ashley Benson), Emily (Shay Mitchell) and Alison (Sasha Pieterse) trying to safely get away from New York and ensure A didn’t get anywhere near Ezra (Ian Harding).
There was the shocking reveal that Shana (Aeriel Miranda) shot Ezra in the season four finale and her fate was sealed following a scuffle with Aria. Read our full recap of EscApe From New York.
The next episode of the season is called Whirlie Girlie and sees Alison return to Rosewood which causes problems for both her friends and her family.
