Mona reveals all
Emily (Shay Mitchell) got her answers from Mona (Janel Parrish) this week but she wasn’t sure that she was getting the full story. After confronting her following Hanna’s (Ashley Benson) bridal shower, Emily was told by Mona that she was the person who called Charlotte (Vanessa Ray) from the diner but insisted that the two never met. According to Mona, Charlotte never arrived at the diner and the duplicitous character refused to reveal what her intentions were had Charlotte met her.
Alison (Sasha Pieterse) took a nasty fall down a flight of stairs during her B&B stay honeymoon with new husband Elliott (Huw Collins). He rushed her to the hospital where she was kept in due to a concussion putting a stop to their romantic picnic plans. Hanna visited Ali to see if she was OK and try and prevent her from coming back to Rosewood while they figured out who was tormenting them. As Hanna looked through Ali’s flowers in the hospital room, she found a card from A that contained the faces of five girls with three of them sporting crosses over them.
Later that day Ali had a dream that her mother Jessica (Andrea Parker) came to see her and told her that Elliott was a good man who loved her. With twin theories flying around, could it be that Jessica is the one who has the twin?
Emily and Spencer (Troian Bellisario) decided to follow Sara Harvey’s (Dre Davis) driver after Emily spotted him talking to Mona. They orchestrated a minor car accident to allow Spencer to take a tube that the driver was carrying from him and investigate its contents. Inside the tube was a set of floorplans for The Radley and a key card leading Spencer to believe that Sara had checked back in to The Radley to continue her shady behaviour.
Sara was seen again later in the episode when the plans for The Radley were dropped through the window of her car. She also had a confrontation with Mona who warned Sara that anything she did from this point to the Liars wouldn’t be able to be blamed on Charlotte.
The difficult road to success
Aria (Lucy Hale) was surprised to learn that her boss wanted to meet with her and Ezra (Ian Harding) to discuss their book. Far from having a draft of the manuscript, which is what her boss wanted, Aria and Ezra had a difference of opinion over how a section of the book should be written. Aria imagined Ezra and Nicole (Rebecca Breeds) sharing their last conversation as she read his pages, and told Ezra that the story had to be written in a way that best served the overall story.
The two met with Aria’s boss and Ezra promised that they would have a manuscript for her to see soon. After the meeting Aria was told that Liam (Roberto Aguire) was no longer handling the book and that she was to go direct through the office for any assistance she needed. Is it safe to call Aria and Liam’s relationship over?
The master plan
Hanna upset Jordan (David Coussins) by refusing to leave Rosewood, instead opting to stay at Lucas’ (Brendan Robinson). With Lucas back in town, and fixing his high-tech home system, Hanna was surprised when he offered her the chance to start her own brand in a building that he would buy for her to use. As she thought about that offer, Hanna appealed to Caleb (Tyler Blackburn) for help with a plan to find out who was tormenting them.
Using Spencer as her test subject, Hanna confessed to murdering Charlotte but quickly revealed that she didn’t do it but could convince their tormentor that she did in order to put an end to their latest ordeal. Spencer wasn’t happy to see Caleb and Hanna getting cosy and thought back to the time she spent with Caleb in Madrid.
Aria came clean to Ezra about what was going on with the new A and the group came together to agree on Hanna’s plan. After Spencer pledged her full support, Hanna sent a text to A admitting that she killed Charlotte.
