President Obama films video intro for Cosmos

Cosmos: A Space Time Odyssey launches this weekend on National Geographic and the show has already found itself a rather famous fan.

Astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson, who presents the show, met with Bill Nye and President Obama at the White House Student Film Festival recently.

US President Barack Obama watched a preview of the show and loved it so much he filmed an introductory video message for the series. In the video intro, intended for the American audience, President Obama invites a new generation to embrace the spirit of discovery and inspires viewers to explore new frontiers and imagine limitless possibilities for the future.

Cosmos: A Space Time Odyssey starts in the UK on Sunday 16th March at 7pm on National Geographic Channel. It will be simulcast on Sky 1 HD.
