Peter Andre talks Strictly Come Dancing to Free Radio

Peter Andre has opened up about his forthcoming appearance on Strictly Come Dancing whilst talking to Free Radio.

During the interview Peter revealed that Strictly had been after him for years saying, “I am incredibly excited and incredibly nervous. It came about because the wonderful Strictly have been kind enough to ask me for the last 3 years, and I remember the last year when they asked, we couldnā€™t do it because we still had the reality show and these sorts of things we were committed to, and you need a certain amount of hours a week to film etc.”

Peter opened up about the speculation that he’ll have an advantage over the other contestants because of his prior dance experience. He said, “Let me tell you something, how do we know that the weather lady doesnā€™t go home, and goes upstairs, and underneath her weather costume is sparkles, and she stands in front of that mirror and she is unbelievable?Nobody knows that! What about Ainsley Harriott, heā€™s good with his hands, but how do we know he isnā€™t going to be good with his feet? What he doesnā€™t know, is Iā€™m gonna be picking his brain about cooking, Iā€™m gonna exhaust him! Itā€™s distraction!”

Asked whether he had to ask his wife permission before agreeing to do the show he revealed, “Of course I did! Guys, Iā€™ve heard the best saying, ā€˜I wear the trousers, but she picks ā€˜em for meā€™. She picks the colours, the size, the belt, I mean you have to ask permission! Iā€™m not gonna hear the end of it by the way. Sheā€™s already sending me pictures of sparkly outfits with smiley faces at the end, sheā€™s giving me grief already.”

Strictly Come Dancing is due to launch on BBC One on Saturday 5th September.
