Penny Dreadful kicks off this week on Sky Atlantic HD just days after its US transmission.
The new horror series is a collaboration between Showtime and BSkyB and features an incredible cast including Timothy Dalton, Eva Green, Josh Hartnett and Billie Piper. In the opening episode many questions were raised as we were introduced to Sir Malcolm (Dalton) and his psychic colleague Vanessa (Green) as they searched for his missing daughter.
The two teamed up with gun-slinger Ethan (Hartnett) and exposed him to the darker side of Victorian London. We also met Victor Frankenstein (Harry Treadaway) who brought to life his first monster.
The next episode is titled Seance. Vanessa and Sir Malcolm meet Dorian Gray (Reeve Carney), while Ethan befriends a young Irish girl (Billie Piper). Contains strong language and disturbing scenes.
