Michael Buerk to present new Channel 4 competition Can I Improve My Memory?

Michael Buerk will present Channel 4‘s one-off special Can I Improve My Memory? this March.

The memory competition challenges three celebrities to learn hundreds of facts on a subject they know absolutely nothing about in just two weeks. The aim is to encourage each celeb to learn new memory techniques and they will be taught by world memory Grandmaster Mark Channon, who memorised more than 700 random numbers in the World Memory Championships.

The three celebrities taking part are TV presenter Gok Wan, Blue Peter legend Valerie Singleton and The Only Way Is Essex star Joey Essex. Gok will learn facts about the Periodic Table, Valerie will be tackling UK grime, and Joey will be answering questions on the life and times of William the Conqueror.

Once they’ve put their new memory techniques to the test, each celebrity will be faced with a final round of the classic memory challenge where they have to memorise 25 random objects.

With only two minutes on the clock, and a live studio audience watching, how many will they be able to remember and who will be crowned the Can I Improve My Memory Champion?

Can I Improve My Memory? airs the week beginning 18th March on Channel 4
