Marvel’s Jessica Jones renewed for a second season

Marvel’s Jessica Jones has been renewed for a second season Netflix has confirmed.

During their presentation at the Television Critics Association Winter Tour today, Netflix chief content officer Ted Sarandos confirmed the news revealing that the new season will consist of 13 episodes. At this time there is no scheduled transmission date for the series as Netflix is juggling Jessica Jones with the upcoming Luke Cage series and The Defenders, which teams up Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Iron Fist.

Jessica Jones debuted at the end of November 2015 and stars Krysten Ritter as the titular character. Following a tragic end to her brief superhero career caused by Kilgrave (David Tennant), Jessica Jones tries to rebuild her life as a private investigator, dealing with cases involving people with remarkable abilities in New York City. When Kilgrave resurfaces, Jessica must work to keep him from ruining people’s lives

The show also stars Mike Colter, Rachael Taylor, Wil Traval, Erin Moriarty, Eka Darville, Carrie-Anne Moss and David Tennant.
