Married at First Sight series 4 begins Wednesday on Channel 4

Married at First Sight returns for a fourth series this Wednesday on Channel 4.

The show has so far put together 10 couples and none of them have stayed together. In fact two of the couples didn’t go through with the marriage, one couple got theirs annulled and the rest have divorced since the show.

For the new series over 7,000 singletons applied to be on the show. The premise of Married at First Sight is that science and a panel of experts put together two people that should be perfect for one another.

The first two couples heading down the aisle are nurse Steph and property manager Jonathan, and office manager Verity and IT consultant Jack. Before they can get married, the newly engaged singles need to persuade their friends and family that marrying a stranger isn’t a completely crazy idea.

Then comes the ultimate test: how will they react when they first set eyes on one another on their wedding day?

With the show having had no success yet in terms of keeping couples together, all eyes will be on the new batch of newly marrieds to see if they can break the pattern.

Marriage at First Sight airs at 9pm Wednesday on Channel 4.
