The X Factor and I’m A Celebrity star Jake Quickenden stopped by ITV’s This Morning earlier today to talk about his time in the jungle.
Talking to presenters Phillip Schofield and Amanda Holden, Jake was quick to defend accusations that his jungle campmate Jimmy Bullard was a bully. āI really do think that [the public got the wrong end of the stick] because thatās what me and Jim were like. We just took the mick out of each other the whole time and heās obviously grown up playing football and in the changing rooms you have to because if you donāt, you get targeted, and Iāve been raised with football and stuff like that as wellā¦ā
He added, āI think if he hadnāt of put his arm around me when I first went in… and we were always singing together, and he was alway complementing, and I was saying some pretty harsh things to him and messing around as well and it was fine. I think I said āitās lucky weāre not on the outside because I would have beat you up or something!ā… and two seconds after that we were dressed as super heroes running around like idiots, so heās not a bully at all. Obviously it just come across a bit worse than what it was.ā
Whilst in the jungle Jake lost a stone in weight and confessed that he’s done nothing but eat since he came out of the show.
He discussed his experience on the show explaining, āI was just getting my head around just getting out of X Factor and then I was on a plane to Oz thinking āwhat a touch Iāve had!ā and thinking āthis is awesomeā…I couldnāt believe my luck!ā
Jake did admit to being worried about meeting the other celebs, āI was worried that everyone would think I was someone from the crew bringing them some water or something! But Jimmy put his arm straight round me and Mel saying they loved me off the X Factorā¦ so straight away that put me at ease.ā
