Hannibal renewed for a third season by NBC

Hannibal fans can breathe a sigh of relief as the show has been renewed for a third season.

NBC has confirmed the renewal today with the show expected to return in 2015 for another 13-episode season. The second season of the show is almost at an end in the US and just started on Sky Living HD here in the UK last week.

Despite moderate ratings in the US, the show has been a hit internationally and critically with praise heaped on Mads Mikkelsenā€™s portrayal of Hannibal Lecter and Hugh Dancyā€™s performance as FBI Special Agent Will Graham.

NBC also confirmed that its comedy show About A Boy will be back for a second season. The network has also ordered three new shows – Constantine, A To Z and The Mysteries of Laura – which are all scheduled for their 2014-15 programming slate.
