Grey’s Anatomy returned for its 11th season in the UK last night and new doctor on the block Maggie Pierce (Kelly McCreary) is not finding it easy to fit in.
After the reveal at the end of season 10 that she was Ellis Grey’s (Kate Burton) daughter, Richard (James Pickens Jr) spent the episode trying to process the fact that he has a daughter and couldn’t bring himself to tell her the truth. Maggie wanted to get to know her half-sister Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) but the two clashed throughout the episode.
Elsewhere Meredith was dealing with the fallout of Derek’s (Patrick Dempsey) decision not to go to Washington and turned to Alex (Justin Chambers) for advice with Cristina (Sandra Oh) no longer in Seattle. Bailey (Chandra Wilson) and Alex also clashed as they both fought for Cristina’s seat on the board.
The next episode of the season is Puzzle with a Missing Piece. Maggie, the hospital’s newest doctor, tries to make a positive impression on her colleagues in the face of a series of obstacles.
