Gotham finally arrived on our shores this week with Channel 5 launching the show in the UK.
In the Pilot episode we met a young police detective James Gordon (Ben McKenzie) and his partner Harvey Bullock (Donal Logue). The two reluctantly agree to investigate the murder of Bruce Wayne’s (David Mazouz) parents which led them into a conspiracy between the mob and the police force.
James tried to keep on the right side of the law and was put to the test when he was asked to kill Oswald Cobblepot aka Penguin (Robin Lord Taylor) in order to keep peace between the police and the mob. James faked the murder and we’re pretty sure that’s going to come back to bite him the backside.
Elsewhere in the episode Selina Kyle (Camren Bicondova) kept her eyes on Bruce Wayne following the murder of his parents, Fish Mooney (Jada Pinkett Smith) made her power known and James promised Bruce that would find out who killed his parents after the wrong man was framed and killed (who also turned out to be Poison Ivy’s father!)
The next episode of the season is Selina Kyle. Gordon hits the streets on the trail of two child snatchers, who are targeting the city’s homeless youths.
