Glee’s season five premiere date has been pushed back in light of Cory Monteith’s death.
TVLine reports that the show will now return on 26th September rather than the previously announced 19th September. The decision has been taken by Fox and 20th Century Fox Television to allow the cast and crew more time before production on the new season begins.
It’s not clear as this stage how Monteith’s death will impact on the show or how the writers will address it when Glee returns.
Earlier this week an autopsy confirmed that Monteith had died from ‘a mixed drug toxicity that involved heroin, primarily, and also alcohol.’ His girlfriend Lea Michele has asked for privacy during this difficult time as she grieves.
