Cookie (Taraji P. Henson) had her hands full in the latest episode of Empire when she came to the rescue of Empire’s first label star Elle Dallas (Courtney Love).
When Anika (Grace Gealey) announced that she was going to drop Elle, Cookie begged Lucious (Terrence Howard) to let her manage the star and oversee a new record. He agreed but Elle was not overly pleased by the decision and lived up to her diva reputation by throwing a tantrum in the studio. Cookie served up a dose of real talk, which resulted in Elle pulling herself together to record a new track.
Elsewhere in the episode Jamal (Jussie Smollett) pushed Michael (Rafael de La Fuente) further away and went back into the closet during a live session for an Internet radio station. As if that wasn’t bad enough his ex-wife Olivia (Raven-Symoné) turned up and claimed her daughter was his child.
The next episode of the season is Our Dancing Days. Tension mounts between Hakeem and Jamal as Lucious does his best to brand Empire Entertainment as a tightly-knit, family-run company.
