Emmerdale Weekly: Andy’s Accident

Have you missed Emmerdale this week?  No worries, just catch yourself up below and get a sneaky look at what the week ahead has in store for our favourite Yorkshire village.

The Weekly Recap

Adam Barton isn’t coping too well with the recent drama of finding out James is his real father.  When he’s not blanking his mother, Moira, he’s saying really hurtful things to her and he’s hitting the bottle hard too with an unlikely drinking partner in bad boy Ross – one of his new step brothers that used to be his cousin.

The pair decide to exact revenge on James by Adam causing a distraction whilst Ross sneaks into the cellar and the pair start loading up their jeep with boxes of spirits.  However, they get caught red handed by Adam’s girlfriend Katie and then pub landlady Diane who calls in local copper Donna.  It’s down to Donna to talk her out of pressing charges but is she doing it for Adam’s sake or for on/off lover boy and partner in crime Ross?

Then following a row with James, a still slightly inebriated Adam gets in and starts the Hay Baler not realising that Andy is trying to fix it and it traps his arm leaving him in agony and he keeps passing out.  The ambulance arrives and whisks him off to hospital with a waiting room reception party all demanding to know what happened to him and James taking the blame for Adam’s mistake.  As tempers flare, Adam confesses it was him that did it because he was drunk and didn’t realise Andy was there.

Let’s just hope Andy hasn’t lost one of his beefy arms!

After walking out on Moira last week, Cain disappears leaving the whole family wondering where he’s got to and Chas and Debbie go on the hunt.  They needed have bothered as they end up getting a call from the police station and have to go and collect him for being drunk and disorderly.

Cain is in no mood to reconcile with Moira but Chas gives him a lecture, telling him that Moira is the best thing that ever happened to him and even Debbie can’t deny what a better person he is since the pair have been together.  He reluctantly caves in at the hospital and tells Moira that he’ll come back to her but refuses to talk about the incident that led them to split up, much to Moira’s frustration.

After competing to win the chance to invest in Jai’s business Megan and Leyla start the week at odds as Jai picks Leyla to invest but doesn’t like it when she comes into the factory office flinging her weight around.  He wants her to stay on the shop floor and just be a partner in all but the investing of her money.  Feisty Leyla tries to call him out in front of her former colleagues, ripping up the contract and deciding to invest elsewhere.

Megan is pleased to overhear the news in the pub, especially as Jai comes creeping straight afterwards and asks her to invest with him after all.  She politely declines his offer and instead ends up thinking of relaunching the wedding planner business that she started at Home Farm.

Leyla finds out from Alicia that is what Megan is planning and sets about to convince Megan they should team up including lining them up a stall at the Home Farm reopening fete.

Jimmy is beside himself when he learns that the special celebrity guest who’ll be declaring Home Farm reopened is no.2 on his laminate list:  the gorgeous Olympic Gold Medalist Victoria Pendleton.  All tied in with the cycling theme as Tour De France, hits Yorkshire this weekend, Victoria is shown around the site by quite a sight – Jimmy in cycling shorts!

Charity and Declan arrive back from honeymoon and seem very much the happy couple, that is until Declan brings up the subject of them trying for a baby.  Charity looks like she’s going along with it by throwing out her contraception pills but we wouldn’t be so sure.

Priya meets the first suitor for her hand in (an arranged) marriage but her mum seems to have put the kibosh on it by going in to detail about her Anorexia with her potential in-laws.

The Week Ahead

Look out ladies, Dan’s brother is coming to town.  Ex Army Man Daz is an instant hit with Kerry and Alicia but Dan doesn’t seem too pleased to see him.

Andy’s injury looks like it could be permanent but no one seems to be taking it seriously leading him to have a go at Adam and threaten to sue Moira.  Things don’t look good for Adam when Katie dumps him and Andy kicks him out of the cottage.  He decides to quit his job at the farm to boot and ends up in someone else’s bed for the night.  Katie will not be happy!

Sam’s mystery lady arrives in the village but what are her true motives?  Lisa is already very suspicious.

Donna and Ross can’t keep away from each other and he’s soon on the rob, leaving her to cover up for him.  Marlon can feel that something is going on and sneaks in to Donna’s place only to stumble across her medication and finally realises what is going on with her.
