This Morning’s Dr Ranj Singh is the seventh celebrity contestant unveiled for this year’s Strictly Come Dancing.
The news was revealed during This Morning on ITV earlier today, presented by Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford.
Dr Ranj said, “I’m so overwhelmed and excited to be part of this wonderful show. It’s an absolute dream come true for me! I’ve been a massive fan for so long, and I can’t quite believe this is happening, but I’m going to give it my best shot. Anyone that knows me knows that I love a bit of sparkle… so bring on the glitter! I can’t wait!!”
A resident doctor on ITV’s This Morning, Singh specialises in the wellbeing of young people. He also still works shifts in A&E and the intensive care unit at his local NHS hospital.
Singh co-created BAFTA award-winning CBeebies series, Get Well Soon and he’s co-presenter of ITV’s brand new prime-time series Save Money: Good Health. He’s also appeared on BBC’s Pointless Celebrities, Inside Out, Celebrity Eggheads and Watchdog; ITV’s Good Morning Britain and Tonight; Channel 5’s Big Brother’s Bit On The Side and 5 News.
Strictly Come Dancing returns to BBC One on Saturday and Sunday nights this autumn. Singh will join previously announced celebs Katie Piper, Faye Tozer, Danny John-Jules, Joe Sugg, Vick Hope and Graeme Swann.
