Dallas cancelled after 3 seasons by TNT

Dallas has been cancelled following the end of its third season in the US.

The show, which currently airs on Channel 5 in the UK, was a revival of the classic soap of the same name and returned to screens in 2012. In the US it drew big ratings but over the first two seasons and following the death of Larry Hagman, the show’s ratings began to dip.

In a statement a TNT spokesperson said, ā€œWe are extremely proud of the series, which defied expectations by standing as a worthy continuation of the Ewing saga. We want to thank everyone involved with the show, from the extraordinary cast to the impeccable production team, led by the showā€™s creative forces, Cynthia Cidre and Mike Robin. We especially want to thank the people of Dallas for their warm and generous hospitality during the production of the series.ā€

The revival starred original Dallas stars Patrick Duffy and Linda Gray alongside new cast members Brenda Strong, Jesse Metcalfe, Josh Henderson, Jordana Brewster, Julie Gonzalo and Juan Pablo Di Pace.

UK fans still have over half of the third and final season to go so Dallas hasn’t quite said goodbye yet.

Are you sad to hear that Dallas has been cancelled? Do you think the show deserved to be renewed for a fourth season? Leave your comments in the usual place.
