On the latest episode of Cold Feet, Adam (James Nesbitt) tried counselling to help with his problems and made a surprising discovery.

After Karen (Hermione Norris), and his son Matt (Ceallach Spellman), gave some harsh home-truths last episode, Adam tried counselling. He struggled as everyone he saw seemed to want to just talk about his father. After a suggestion from Karen he tried a girl she recommended and was surprised to learn her methods involved group Drama Therapy. It involved using the group to acting out scenarios from his life and he initially struggled to see the merit in it. He stuck at it and realised that his issues stemmed from the death of his wife Rachel (Helen Baxendale) back in season 5. He and Matt later bonded over a video of Rachel.
Karen was baffled by a constant stream of packages arriving for daughter Ellie (Sylvie Briggs). She was appalled when Olivia (Daisy Edgar-Jones) explained how her sister was ‘rinsing men online’ which was basically chatting to strangers and getting them to buy her them. Karen turned to Adam for help and he took matters into his own hands by joining Ellie in an online webchat which seemed to make her think.
Jenny (Fay Ripley) grappled with her secret and almost let it out to her friends and family several times. She went to hospital for tests which she disguised as a nail appointment. There she learnt that the signs pointed to breast cancer and had to wait for the results of a biopsy to be sure. Meanwhile, Pete (John Thomson) took Evan the ‘jumper’ on as a cause as he’s been there himself. Without thinking it through he told Evan to call him any time and Evan, desperate for help, did so and called him at all hours. Pete’s preoccupation with Evan led him to let young Adam (Jack Harper) down which aggravated an already sensitive Jenny. Young Adam’s band was picked to play at a festival.
Finally David (Robert Bathurst), used to living the high life, hated being a kept man. Nikki (Siobhan Finneran) tried to be understanding but he just couldn’t cope with taking money from her. Being given a credit card with her face on was the last straw and he felt she was keeping an eye on him. Tensions increased and David decided to call time on their relationship.
