This week’s episode was full of hopefuls some more talented than others. Once you got passed the frantic free-style dancer who didn’t realize that it required a lit of bit of practice and planning or the first-time comedian that talked to veg, it was the turn of students AJ and Chloe, who dazzled the crowd with their take on ballroom dancing. The energetic duo impressed the judges with their faultless performance and went through to the next stage.
All four judges, Simon Cowell, Alicia Dixon, Amanda Holden and the fabulous David Walliams, were once more behind their buzzers ready for some talent, whilst contestants waited to be seen full of hope such as Welsh duo, Richard and Adam. BGT has seen its fair share of singers with sometimes-catastrophic results but with their nan on stage it seemed like nothing could stop them and sure enough once the two started their classical interpretation of The Impossible Dream the crowd was behind them as were the judges.
BGT is as much about the failed performances as it is about the good ones. Two Ways sang up and down and even if the duo was completely out of tune and not the kind of band you’d pay to see they certainly brightened our evening. The two got the girls vote, which wasn’t enough to get through. The girls camaraderie really gave the show a fun twist with them storming off the set to Simon’s and David’s dismay.
The men carried on alone and the contestants endured it. Pastry chef Neil sang I Am All Out Of Love and the remaining judges seemed in a good mood letting him through to the next round. The girls finally gave in and came back to an electrifying performance from dancers CEO Dancers. The trio impressed everyone with their mix of modern and African dance moves. Equally as impressive was 15-year-old Tariq who sang his heart out on the piano; 5-year-old dancer, Jordan was too cute to not go through to the next round whilst Irish singer songwriter Jordan O’Keefe was a big success. The young man sang as well and looked good on stage.
This week’s favourite mum of two Francine Lewis decided to show off her impressions and was good at it too. We couldn’t stop laughing at Amy Childs’ impression or even Cheryl Cole’s and the judges agreed with us by giving Lewis a standing ovation and the very coveted 4 yeses!
The show ended with a fun and original performance of I Need You Tonight by MC Boy, which wasn’t brilliant in all honesty but got the crowd going and entertained the judges. Simon didn’t appreciate the showmanship but the rest of the judges did and so MC Boy went through to the next round.
Britain’s Got Talent will be back next Saturday 7pm.
