Brendan Coyle to lead new drama Spotless

Brendan Coyle (Downton Abbey), Miranda Raison (24: Live Another Day), Marc-Andre Grondin (C.R.A.Z.Y) and Denis Menochet (Inglourious Basterds) are to star in new crime drama Spotless.

A sexy, one-hour crime drama peppered with black humor and set in London, Spotless is the story of a troubled man, ā€˜Jean,ā€™ whose tidy life is turned upside down when his outlaw brother, ā€˜Martin,ā€™ crash lands into his world, entangling them in the deadly dynamics of organized crime.

Played out against a backdrop of ā€˜Jeanā€™sā€™ niche Crime Scene Cleaning business, with gangsters, corruption, drugs and death a constant hazard, ā€˜Jean,ā€™ ā€˜Martinā€™ and their dysfunctional family struggle to gain control over life, business and their shared destiny. Spotless is irreverent, dark, funny, sexy and dangerous.

Spotless is a collaboration between CANAL+ and Tandem Communications in association with Rosetta Media. The show will feature 10 hour long episodes with the first two directed by award-winning Pascal Chaumeil.

Fabrice de la PatelliĆØre, Director of French Drama and Co-Productions for CANAL+ says, ā€œWe are delighted to begin production of Spotless, featuring talented lead actors Marc-AndrĆ© Grondin and Denis MĆ©nochet, who are great matches for the showā€™s originality and dark humor. We love Pascal Chaumeilā€™s work and are excited that he will be directing the first two episodes, starting the series off in a quirky, off-beat style. The channel is taking a thrilling gamble by introducing a new genre to its original programming.ā€

The series is expected to start shooting on 2nd July 2014.
