Blindspot 4×20 Coder to Killer preview

On the latest episode of Blindspot, Jane (Jaimie Alexander) and Weller (Sullivan Stapleton) went to face his mother in Pennsylvania.

If you’re not up to date with Blindspot and like to avoid spoilers we suggest you don’t read any further.

The main case revolved around a satellite armed with nuclear missiles. A data breach at the company responsible for the satellite saw the launch codes stolen. The team scrambled to find out who was responsible and eventually discovered that it was the wife of a senior VP of the company. She was involved with the Russians who were trying to get their hands on the launch codes. As usual the team managed to stop them in time.

Meanwhile, Weller and Jane went to talk to his mother Linda (Lisa Emery) to find out her involvement with Shepherd. It turned out that Shepherd had been using her to gain information on Weller. They discovered she owed a drug dealer $100,000 which Weller eventually paid, before checking her into rehab. She confided in Jane and it turned out that Weller didn’t know the truth of what happened when he was a child. His mother wasn’t as bad as he had come to believe.

Elsewhere in the episode, Patterson (Ashley Johnson) and Rich (Ennis Esmer) found themselves up against their former hacker friend Kathy (Heather Burns). She had been released from prison and got straight to hacking a bank. They tracked her down and she revealed she was getting married. They bribed her with $400,000 to try and keep her quiet and stop her hacking again.

At the end of the episode, it was revealed that Kathy’s future husband is Dominic Masters (Chaske Spencer). She’s no idea who he is or that he’s using her for her hacking skills to carry out the Helios plan.

The promo for the next episode reveals that an assassin is trying to kill the FBI team. It looks like Zapata and Reade could be in some trouble.
