Banshee season 2 The Thunder Man recap

Banshee continued itā€™s second season tonight in the UK and the violence of the first season made a glorious return.

If you havenā€™t seen the latest episode of Banshee then we suggest you stop reading now to avoid spoilers. If you have seen it and want to relive the action then keep reading.

Following last weekā€™s scene-setting season premiere, Banshee switched up a few gears as we got into the main storylines of the season. Following the court scenario last week, Carrie (Ivana Milicevic) found herself back in the courtroom after failing to give Racine (Zeljko Ivanek) any information as to the whereabouts of Rabbit. She was sentenced to 30 days in prison but given a grace period of 72 hours to say goodbye to her family and wrap any business up. A tense exchange with Deva (Ryann Shane) made Carrie quickly realise that she has well and truly lost her family.

Lucas (Antony Starr) was the person who had the unenviable task of taking her to prison which brought back memories of his own time behind bars. Within hours of arriving, Carrie was put into solitary after getting into a nasty fight with a fellow inmate who taunted her from the moment she arrived. We think itā€™s safe to say Carrie isnā€™t going to have a walk in the park in prison.

The war between Kai (Ulrich Thomsen) and Alex (Anthony Ruivivar) stepped up a bit too this week. Alex mistakenly thought that Kai was behind the robbery of his casino truck. In retaliation he detonated C4 in one of Kaiā€™s cattle trucks and Nola (Odette Annable) took it upon herself to kidnap Rebecca (Lili Simmons) as bargaining power. Lucas went on a mission to rescue Rebecca, which he did successfully, and discovered that his recent bedmate had put him right into the midst of the war between the two families.

Not one to back down from a fight, Kai used extreme tactics to get back at Alex by arriving at his house unannounced and dumping the remains of the cows that were blown up into his Jacuzzi whilst Alex and his wife were enjoying a bit of passion. Yuck. Kai also told him that if he went for Rebecca again he would kill every member of Alexā€™s family before drowning him in their blood.

Deputy Siobhan Kelly (Trieste Kelly Dunn) received an unwelcome reminder of her past when her ex-husband Breece (Peter Scanavino) showed up unannounced pleading for her to drop the restraining order she took out against him so he could get a job. Ignoring every single warning sign that doing that would be a terrible idea, Siobhan soon realised that her ex-husband was trying to worm his way back into her life.

After a couple of incidents where he turned up at her home, the second of which saw him get abusive towards her again, Siobhan decided to fight back after Lucas found her hurt in her trailer. Lucas offered to sort the situation out and Siobhan gave him incorrect information so she could take matters into her own hands. She went to Breeceā€™s motel and a bloody fight ensued which left him unconscious on the floor. Lucas arrived after Siobhan had successfully attacked Breece and the two shared a passionate kiss. Lucas then told Siobhan to leave and said he would clear up the mess to avoid her being implicated and losing her job.

The episode drew to a close with Gordon Hopewell (Rus Blackwell) in the parking lot of the Savoy strip-club being serviced by a woman (presumably one of the strippers) as he looked miserable and glanced out of the window.

Banshee continues Mondays at 10pm on Sky Atlantic HD in the UK.
