Banshee season 2 Little Fish recap

Banshee blasted back onto our screens tonight to kick off its second season and we were very glad to welcome the show back into our lives.

If you havenā€™t seen the season two premiere then we suggest you stop reading now so we donā€™t spoil anything for you. If you have seen it and want to relive all of the action then keep reading.

Little Fish picked up shortly after the events of the season one finale which left Rabbit (Ben Cross) seemingly dead, Carrieā€™s (Ivana Milicevic) life in tatters, Lucas (Antony Starr) on the verge of being exposed and Mayor Dan Kendall (Daniel Ross Owens) dead. The action kicked off with Lucas in bed hallucinating whilst he recovered from being stabbed by Rabbit. Plagued by visions of the gangster, Lucas was visited by Carrie who told him she wanted to get her family back and that he should disappear.

Sugar (Frankie Faison) and Job (Hoon Lee) break into the morgue and steal the remains of the real Lucas Hood. They then bury it somewhere else so Lucas isnā€™t outed as a fraud.

Carrie, Lucas, Deputy Lotus (Matt Servitto), Deputy Yawners (Demetrius Grosse) and Deputy Kelly (Trieste Kelly Dunn) are summoned to court to be questioned by Racine (Zeljko Ivanek) about their parts in the shoot-out with Rabbit. During the questioning they all tell the same story and Racine gets frustrated before revealing that he believes Rabbit is still alive and in hiding. Racine lets everyone off with lenient punishments meaning the sheriffā€™s department would be monitored for two years with the deputies on probation and Lucas getting off scot-free.

As he is leaving court, Racine is confronted by Dean Xavier (Derek Cecil) which leads him to reveal heā€™s more interested in finding Rabbit than punishing the Banshee Sheriffā€™s Department. He revealed that his cancer has progressed leaving him little time to bring Rabbit to justice before relieving Xavier of his position on the case and warning Carrie that sheā€™ll face criminal charges if she doesnā€™t aid his investigation.

Rabbit is seen lying unconscious in the woods before waking up and killing a squirrel in a rage.

Elsewhere Rebecca (Lili Simmons) is wracked with guilt over the death of the Mayor as she makes the decision to finally break free from the Amish community to live with her uncle Kai (Ulrich Thomsen). The promiscuous youth then spies her uncle having sex with a woman.

Pretty much ignoring Racineā€™s warnings, Lucas and Carrie join forces with job to rob a truck full of money from the casino. After a high-speed chase the trio look set to get away with the heist until they are attacked by someone on a motorbike. Following the heist Lucas and Carrie argue about what life she wants and Carrie tells Lucas sheā€™s lost everything and needs money so working with him is the only option she has. Later on Lucas and his team investigate the abandoned truck with the stolen money in and he tried to find out who the mysterious motorbike chaser was.

They manage to get away with some of the money and as they escape the chaser is revealed to be Nola (Odette Annable).

Later in the episode Lucas meets Nola in Sugarā€™s bar and the two end up back at his place having sex. They both notice the scars on each otherā€™s bodies whilst in the throes of passion.

Elsewhere in the episode Deva (Ryann Shane) deals with her issues by shoplifting then threatening to make up a story about being touched up by the security guard to convince him to release her. Deputy Kelly was put up in new temporary accommodation after her house was burned down in the first season. She also suggested that sheā€™d like to be more than friends with Lucas. Carrie appealed to her estranged husband Gordon (Rus Blackwell) to let her see her family but he refused to budge and Alex (Anthony Ruivivar) found his position as chief questioned by George (Gil Birmingham) following the truck heist

The episode drew to a close with Racine questioning Rabbitā€™s brother (Julian Sands) thinking that he is hiding him. Racine reveals that he knows Rabbit is still alive before warning him that heā€™ll take him down along with his brother.

Banshee continues Mondays at 10pm on Sky Atlantic HD in the UK.
