American Horror Story: Freak Show arrived in the UK last night and it’s looking set to be the most chilling season of the hit horror show yet.
The first episode introduced us to Elsa Mars (Jessica Lange), a woman who runs the last freak show based in Jupiter, Florida. She tracked down and recruited conjoined twins Bette and Dot Tattler (Sarah Paulson) convincing them to be part of her show in the hope of re-energising the fading entertainment form.
Whilst Elsa was busy doing that, Twisty the Clown (John Carroll Lynch) was terrorising and murdering people and giving us plenty of nightmare material in the process. We still can’t close our eyes in the dark!
The next episode of the season is Massacres and Matinees. A citywide curfew threatens to shut down the Freak Show, and a strongman from Ethel’s troubled past arrives at camp.
