Games of Thrones actor Alfie Allen will present and associate produce new football series for HISTORY.
Currently under the working title Alfie Allen’s Story of Football, the series will feature 2 one-hour episodes that will air in 2017. The series will reveal the birth and evolution of the UK’s most-loved sport.
Alfie has been passionate about football all his life and in the series he will travel across the UK to find out how the game transformed into what it is today. He will be discovering how the game evolved through a broad range of themes including the fans, stadiums, FA, leagues, gender, diversity and chants.
Alfie says: “Football has been a big part of my life from an early age and the opportunity to work with HISTORY to uncover the secrets of the game is a really exciting one for me. This project also marks my first time in documentary, both as a presenter and associate producer, and so for all those reasons it is very exciting indeed.”
Alfie Allen’s Story of Football will be produced by Woodcut Media and The Development Partnership.
