Singer and actor Adam Lambert will take on a role in FOX’s upcoming TV remake of The Rocky Horror Picture Show it has been announced.
Lambert will play the role of Eddie in the remake, the rock’n’roll loving motorcycle rider played by Meat Loaf in the original movie. Talking about the role Lambert said, “I grew up watching Rocky Horror but could never imagine that I would be part of this new vision.”
The role will see Lambert star alongside Laverne Cox as Frank-N-Furter, Victoria Justice as Janet Weiss, Ryan McCartan as Brad Majors and Staz Nair as Rocky.
The Rocky Horror Picture Show tells the story of sweethearts Janet and Brad, who stumble upon the home of Dr. Frank-N-Furter when their car breaks down. They are pulled into a world of sexual ambiguity by the alien mad scientist who is holding an annual Transylvanian science convention to showcase the birth of a man he has created to fulfill his own desires.
Lambert’s role marks a return to the FOX network after he recurred on musical drama Glee and of course participated on American Idol, where he finished runner-up.
The Rocky Horror Picture Show is expected to air this autumn in the US.
