24: Live Another Day – meet the main characters

The countdown is on for the return of 24 which will be back on our screens in just over a week.

Four years after season 8, 24: Live Another Day is a 12-episode limited series set in London. Of course Jack Bauer (Kiefer Sutherland) will be back for the new season and there will be a mixture of old and new faces joining him.

The new season will open with a two-hour premiere and finds Jack on the run whilst trying to thwart a global disaster. Ahead of the show’s return we’ve put together a guide to the season’s main characters.

We don’t really need to make any introductions to Jack do we? Kiefer Sutherland will reprise the iconic role that reignited his career and made him a worldwide star all over again. The new season finds Jack on the run and picks up the action four years after he disappeared with the help of Chloe.

Chloe O’Brian

Mary Lynn Rajskub is back as fan favourite Chloe who was Jack’s confidant from season 3. In 24: Live Another Day, Chloe is working with high-profile hacker Adrian Cross (Michael Wincott) but is soon reunited with Jack to aid him on his latest mission. We’ve missed you Chloe!

Audrey Raines

This one is going to be messy. Audrey (Kim Raver) is back and last we saw her she was catatonic at the end of season 6 after being tortured by the Chinese. She’s back to normal now it seems and married to Mark Boudreau (Tate Donovan) who is the Chief of Staff to her father James Heller (William Devane), the current US President. Will we see Jack and Audrey reunited?

The new President of the US, James Heller is the target of an assassination plot that Jack is trying to prevent in the new season. Aided by Chief of Staff Mark Boudreau and his daughter Audrey, is James ready to let Jack back into his life after he nearly cost him his daughter?

The Chief of Staff to President Heller, Mark Boudreau is now married to Jack’s old flame Audrey Raines. Judging from the footage we’ve seen in the trailer he’s not happy about Jack’s return. Will his marriage be under threat? We wouldn’t bet against it.

Kate Morgan

CIA Agent Kate Morgan (Yvonne Strahovski) is tracking Jack as she tries to locate him. She’s described as ‘resourceful and ruthless’ so could she prove to be a powerful ally for Jack or a worthy adversary? It’s too early to tell but we imagine she’s going to cause him some problems.

Steve Navarro

CIA Head Steve Navarro (Benjamin Bratt) is working with CIA Agent Kate Morgan trying to track Jack in London. We suspect he may have deeper motives for finding Jack than just ‘doing his job’.

Jordan Reed

CIA computer tech Jordan Reed (Giles Matthey) is a core part of the CIA team tracking Jack. Does anyone else think he sounds like the new Chloe? Every season of 24 needs a government geek doesn’t it?

Erik Ritter

CIA field operative Erik Ritter (Gbenga Akinnagbe) is described as ‘sharp, strong and arrogant’. He works alongside Steve Nevarro, Kate Morgan and Jordan Reed. Can the four of them capture Jack Bauer? We highly doubt it…

Adrian Cross

High-profile hacker Adrian Cross starts the season by working with Chloe who has turned to the dark side since her time at CTU came to an end. He’s a charismatic leader of the free information movement so could come in very useful to Jack.

24: Live Another Day begins in the US on Monday 5th May and will be simulcast in the UK at 1am on Tuesday 6th May at 1am on Sky 1 HD. The series will then air from 9pm on Wednesdays on Sky 1 HD.
