The 2019 National Television Awards took place last night and it was a big evening for smash-hit BBC One drama Bodyguard.
The ratings juggernaut picked up the awards for New Drama and Drama Performance for Richard Madden’s portrayal of Sgt David Budd. This Morning continued its hot streak in the Daytime category while Ant & Dec remained undefeated in the TV Presenter category, despite Ant McPartlin barely appearing on our screens due to personal struggles in 2018.
Elsewhere Emmerdale beat its rivals in the Serial Drama category while James Moore picked up the Newcomer award for his role in the soap as James Moore.
The 2019 National Television Awards took place at The O2 in London last night with Dermot O’Leary presenting. There was a performance from Westlife, who debuted their new single Hello My Love on TV for the first time.
