Sorry but this article is just fanboy drivel

Thanks for taking the time to read and comment Dean. This is of course just my opinion. I’d love to hear your take on what you want from the next season.

  2. zombie snack says:

Everything accept, I’d rather see Daryl with Beth. If you look at it realistically, Beth is the best choice. She has grown into a woman not a little girl having been with Daryl. She’s a farmer’s daughter. She wouldn’t be likely to want a clean cut pretty boy especially in the zombie world. If the appocolypse hadn’t happened she mght have liked a biker type like Daryl. Daryl is a fairly young guy. He’s gotta notice she’s hot. In the zombie world age differences would not be an issue, besides 18 and ( about) 30 is not a huge difference. He doesn’t seem to have much experience with attractive ( non-damaged) girls like Beth so I can see him falling hard. Carol is actually better matched with Tyrese. He’s mellow but protective, just what a formerly abused woman might want. I think a Daryl-Beth storyline would make a nice bit of sexual tension for viewers and if she were to eventually get lost or killed it would provide some drama/ trauma for our favorite Daryl character.

That’s an interesting thought. Do you think Tyreese could fully forgive Carol though for what she did?

Honestly, this reads like a typical Westernized viewer who can’t concentration for an hour without something being a full sensory overload. Even then, you probably need to be hooked upto an electronic device while you watch!

It seems to me your problem is you are expecting soap operatics with action thriller drama combined to give you instant gratification. That’s not what the show is about.

The fact that you think new characters will all just be ‘inevitably killed off’ shows you don’t see the substance in the characters of the stories. I’m so sorry that these new and interesting characters that bring a lot of strength and heart to the group as a whole, has disrupted your zombie killing fest!

Again, you want Terminus to be over in 2 episodes, but you will probably complain they didn’t utilize it enough. Before they have even got to their next destination, you already want them to get to the one after that!? Again, you’re lack of attention span is showing.

Rick has always been the leader, even if he wasn’t I definitely wouldn’t want Maggie and Glenn to be the leaders. Heck, Maggie doesn’t even care about her dad or sister.

Family drama with Rick and Carl? you seem to want a soap opera there.

Michonne reduced down to nothing more than a sword-wielding action star? Again your lack of depth is showing. She is best when she is being a supportive friend and leader, who can be vulnerable but also handle herself and defend her group.

Romance again seems to suggest soap opera drama. You want romances to add depth, not detract from the characters and stories.

Pacing? The pacing was perfect. We couldn’t have had that build up for each individual, or the care factor for each – if they had turned up at Terminus in episode 3 or 4. I also really enjoyed seeing them ‘on the road’. It was a refreshing change from the stagnate scenes at the prison and ‘going on runs’.

I disagree entirely that 4B wasn’t as strong. I feel it has probably been the strongest so far!.

The refocus on the characters stories, and their struggles and survival is what it should be about! A lot of strength and change and determination happened to each member while on the road to get to the point in Terminus.

The writers and creators have injected a lot into it, and the characters, to set up for an awesome season 5 that is invigorated with fresh material and new direction.

It is viewers and half arsed reviewers like you, that wittle the development and change down to nothing more than ‘filler’ when it runs much deeper than that. And to that I say – The issue is with you, not the show.

Hey there. Thanks for taking the time to read the article and comment. It’s just my opinion. A soap opera is absolutely not what I want but for me this season was uneven and I’d have preferred more time spent on the original core characters than all the new ones who did come in and get killed off within a few episodes. I appreciate your view may be different and some of the points you made were interesting. No need to be quite so aggressive though is there? Having different opinions makes for a healthy debate – it doesn’t make anyone right or wrong.
