Last night, the amazing Paul Whitehouse took home two gongs at the British Comedy Awards.
The first award he won was Best Sketch Show for the Harry & Paul show, and he also won the Writer’s Guild of Great Britain Award.
Here, we talk to him after he wins his first award of the evening.
Congratulations on winning your award. How does it feel to win?
I’m really pleased, and very surprised actually. I was here because I’m nominated for an award that there are no other nominees for, so I knew that I was going to win something, but I didn’t know that I would win this! I thought Horrible Histories or Kevin might win it! And Eldon – live in my shadow a little longer young man! Ha! Ha!
How are you going to celebrate your win tonight?
By laughing at Kevin a lot. And, send him many texts. We have quite a good text style about eyeballs. We converse about eyeballs on a daily basis.
That sounds very interesting Paul. Eyeballs.
Now, they get everywhere don’t they? Ha! Ha!
How did it feel to work with Harry (Hill) again?
I’ve been working with Harry almost non-stop really over the years. We’ve done for series, so we’re old mates and we’re never going to fall out. We are too old and cynical to fall out anymore, not that we ever did anyway.
We hope you enjoy your evening and thanks for talking to us.
