Green Man festival day 2

Day 2 started off dry and gradually the dampness began to creep on sight. This didn’t deter us or the rest of the campers, who woke up fresh and ready for another day of Green Man goodness. The second day of the festival had an impressive line up including, Fossil Collective, Band of Horses and The Horrors.

We started our day by the Walled Garden stage where we enjoyed the mellow vibes and chilled out atmosphere. There we caught Fossil Collective who were on top form performing their mellow indie folk/rock tunes. The stage was aptly packed and with its four walls it felt rather intimate.

We also decided to catch some comedy at the Last Laugh where we saw The Specialist Subject. Various comedians with all their own specialist subjects and they ranged from furries, zombies to Knightmare you can imagine that the result was pretty funny.

We let ourselves enjoy a bit of the festival by wandering around the fields to discover art installations, wooden structures and furniture, which added something special to the festival. You can always tell a good festival by how much detail they pay to smaller things. Green Man certainly is clean and people are rather posh but there is also a great atmosphere and friendly people ready to spark a conversation.

The highlight of our day/night was to see The Horrors perform some of their most memorable tracks. The band’s music is big at the best of times but on a field the sound seemed to travel further. We couldn’t have picked a better sound for our cheery mood and The Horrors obliged with their soundscapes and soaring guitars.  Following them headliners Band of Horses took the stage to the crowds delight. The band performed old classics but also new tracks and it all went down pretty smoothly.

We wandered off into the night and caught up with acts on The Chai Wallahs stage. There we saw Syntrax & The Mouse Outfit perform their tight set of hip hop and rap. We then moved to the After Dark stage where we heard Villagers play some of his best acoustic tracks.

All in all day 2 at Green Man was a delight even with its indecisive weather. Day 3 is promising to be the best yet with performances from Public Service Broadcasting, Local Natives and Ben Howard.
