Green Man festival day 1

Green Man festival is set in beautiful Brecon in Wales. Surrounded by picturesque, Green Man festival is so far proving to be one of the highlights of our summer. With 6 festivals done already this summer you’d think we were done being excited and enjoying ourselves and even though we are pretty worn down once we arrived onsite we started feeling like kids again, wide eyed we explored our new surroundings. Quirky art installations, enchanted foresty bits, castles, amazing music stages featuring old and fresh music and brand new to this year the comedy tent. So what did we make of our first day?

Day one started with missing wellies, a missing microphone, our car lost in the immense car park and yet with its lovely atmosphere and lovely people Green Man festival blew us away unexpectedly. As we arrived on site Kings Of Convenience, Friday’s headliners, started their electric performance, performing music from their catalogue the band sounded great and the crowd agreed with enthusiastic cheers. Another act catching a lot of attention were Fuck Buttons on the Far Out / After Dark stage. With their big drops, beats and live energy this act was getting all the right attention.

Other things we did on the first night included seeing some comedy from Bethany Black who paved the way for Andrew O’Neil, who had his crowd in stitches. We definitely enjoyed the man’s clever observational humour and quick response. O’Neil is most famous for his cross-dressing stage persona much like Eddie Izzard but his lady looks also come with some sexy metal tattoos.

Day two of the festival will hopefully be as intriguing as day one and it should be with performances from The Horrors and Band of Horses. Keep up to date with us and check out pictures for Green Man festival on our facebook page.
