Up North: Film and Television Festival at Square Chapel, Halifax

In March 2019, Square Chapel Arts Centre in the heart of Halifax, West Yorkshire launched its first ever Film and Television Festival with the help of actor Ian Puleston-Davies.

Now Square Chapel is gearing up for Up North — a month-long event celebrating Northern voices on screen and behind the camera. The festival will run from Friday 3rd to Wednesday 29th May.

Guests include Leeds-born writer Kay Mellor OBE in conversation on 13th May, and an evening with film and theatre legend Brian Blessed on 22nd May.

Other special guests include Sue Hodge (5th May), Dave Johns (19th May) and Henry Normal (29th May).

“I feel I have found a new spiritual home at Square Chapel Arts Centre in Halifax,” says Ian Puleston-Davies. “I have fallen in love with the people and the place.”
