The Princess and the Sprout at Leeds Central Library

This Christmas, Wrongsemble premiere a brand new festive show for 3-to-8 year-olds and their families.

Performed in a one-of-a-kind pop-up theatre specifically for Leeds Central Library, The Princess and the Sprout & Other Festive Tales is the only production outside of panto geared towards family audiences in the city this year. Each story is set in Leeds, and routed in the voices and geography of the region.

“It was important to us to represent the communities we serve here — in Wrongsemble’s home town!” said Elvi Piper, Artistic Director of the company.

“We hope the show will prove an enchanting experience for all ‘sprouts’ aged three to eight and their grown-ups, and can’t wait to embark on this exciting new project with Leeds Central Library.”

The Princess and the Sprout has been designed with total inclusivity, with the company staging two Relaxed Performances, BSL Interpreted shows, and offering heavily subsidised tickets throughout the run. Each show will be rounded off with a free interactive ‘stay and play’ session with the cast onstage.

“A captivating, compact show full of big ideas, brought to stage with a creative flair which is sure to ignite the imagination of young minds.” – Entertainment Focus’ 5-star review of Wrongsemble’s The Selfish Giant.

The Princess and the Sprout & Other Festive Tales is at Room 700, Leeds Central Library, from 7 – 31 December 2018. Tickets cost: £5 / £7 (family of four £20). Book online at wrongsemble.com
