The Man Inside premieres at the Landor

New British musical The Man Inside is to debut at the Landor Theatre, where it will play from 12th – 29th March.

Produced by Theatrica Ltd. in association with Cheltenham Everyman Theatre, The Man Inside stars Dave Willetts.

Free the good in man and let it fly…

These are the words spoken by eminent doctor and scientist Dr Jekyll, whose life’s work is devoted to helping those in turmoil. Through research and development he holds a mirror to those who pursue self interest and personal desires by means of crime or terror, then choose to blame society for their actions. But when his experiments start taking him to increasingly dark places, will he be able to hold on to the goodness he believes in, or will he be lost to a world of deception, self indulgence and secret passions? A contemporary re-imagining of Robert Louis Stevenson’s 1886 novella The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, The Man Inside is a provocative, disturbing and unexpected new musical set between two conflicting worlds; reality or imagination, good or evil, victim or madman?

Dave Willetts is the first person in the world to have played both the roles of Jean Valjean and The Phantom in the West End’s two longest running musicals Les Miserables and The Phantom of the Opera.

Further casting is to be announced.

The Man Inside has music by Tony Rees and book and lyrics by Tony Rees and Gary Young. It is directed by Robert McWhir, with musical direction by Matheson Bayley.

Tickets are available from the Landor Theatre website.
