The Jewish Legacy – A Night at the Musicals

Nearly every single great musical composer from the last century was Jewish. This extraordinary fact has led to a new show celebrating the contribution of Jewish people to musical theatre.

The Jewish Legacy is a show for everyone that takes you from the very beginnings of musical theatre to some of the most up-to-date and intriguing shows.

The Jewish Legacy will celebrate such unforgettably famous shows as West Side Story, Funny Girl, Fiddler On The Roof, The Wizard Of Oz and South Pacific with classics including My Funny Valentine, Over the Rainbow, Tonight, There’s No Business Like Show Business and Wouldn’t It Be Loverly? There’s work from Irving Berlin, Richard Rodgers, Kander and Ebb, George Gershwin, Lorenz Hart, Harold Arlen right through to Stephen Sondheim and even more modern names like Jason Robert Brown, Zina Goldrich and Marcy Heisler.

A cast of four sensational performers and an intimate band tell the story and phenomenal success of the Jewish creatives using medleys, snippets of songs and other vocal surprises.

The show will be performed on the following dates and at the following venues:

Sunday 30th March, 4pm and 7.30pm – Paragon Theatre, Manchester

Sunday 6th April, 4pm and 7.30pm – The Radlett Centre, Hertfordshire
