Star-studded Shang-a-Lang at the King’s Head

Signal Theatre Company presents Shang-a-Lang, a play about the Bay City Rollers by Catherine Johnson (Mamma Mia!). It will run at the King’s Head Theatre from 22nd January to 15th February.

Including the rollers’ popular hits such as Bye Bye Baby and Give a Little Love, Shang-a-Lang follows a trio of forty-something women as they try to recapture their youth at a seventies weekend at Butlins. Political correctness, manners, decorum and possibly clothes go out the window as the increasingly disillusioned women try to cling to the dreams of bygone years.

The cast includes Thomas Craig (Tommy Harris in Coronation Street, Simon Goddard in Where The Heart Is and Inspector Brackenreid in seven series of Murdoch Mysteries), Samantha Edmonds (Helen Chatsworth in Casualty) and Lisa Kay (Carol Cassidy in Heartbeat).

For more details and to book, see the Signal Theatre website or the King’s Head Theatre website.
