Production photos have been released of Nicole Scherzinger making her West End debut in a new production of Cats at the London Palladium.
Scherzinger plays the role of Grizabella in the musical until 7th February 2015 and the new production marks the return of the much-loved musical to the West End. Cats is based on T. S. Eliot’s Old Possum’s Book of Practical Cats.
The synopsis for the show is: On just one special night of the year, all Jellicle cats meet at the Jellicle Ball where Old Deuteronomy, their wise and benevolent leader, makes the Jellicle choice and announces which of them will go up to The Heaviside Layer and be reborn into a whole new Jellicle life.
The new production reunites the original creative team – director Trevor Nunn, Associate Director and Choreographer Gillian Lynne, Designer John Napier and Composer Andrew Lloyd Webber.
Cats has been seen by over 50 million people worldwide in over 30 countries since it debuted in 1981. It ran at the New London Theatre for a record-breaking 21 years.
